Mindfulness isn't "working" for three reasons: First, it is the entry level skill needed for meditation. Eventually we need to go beyond it and learn new skills. Second, mindfulness was never designed to just be about fixing our anxiety - it is about opening up spiritually which means that the emotional garbage will eventually come up to be healed - and this cannot be done in meditation. Finally, mindfulness is also the masculine energy that seeks to liberate us from the material plane - it, however, does now work well for highly intuitive, highly creative people who already live in inspiration land and need help grounding their energy. The McMindfulness movement doesn't understand its nuances and wisdom from feminine spiritual practices will be needed to balance out this trend. Thank you for your article. Most of my clients have thrown it out the window until they are taught it is just the first step in a very long journey.
